China: delivering knowledge transfer on eGovernment best
practice
Between 2006 and 2008, the CST team provided a range of capacity
building services to the Government of the People’s Republic of
China, as part of the EU-China Information Society Project. In
particular, our experts provided mentoring and knowledge
transfer services to five major national eGovernment
demonstrator projects:
-
In Yantai – development of an integrated, citizen-focused
e-Government service delivery system
-
In Chengdu – development of an integrated, effective, and
speedy public health emergency response and rescue service
-
In Handan – development of a smart card based social
security system providing an integrated platform to handle
citizens’ retirement, unemployment, pay, medical insurance
and other services
-
In Yangquan - provision of government services to villagers
in rural areas using “data exchange centres” and a
“video-management system for e-Government”
-
In Baotou - putting all administrative approvals required by
the municipal government online via the Internet and DiTV.
